View Full Version : CM spending all resources on us

Looks like because we have continued to advocate for our foster children that the CM has decided to spend resources in harassing us. She wants the children put in kin ship guardianship after more than a year with us. We have protested as we believe the older child's wishes are being ignored. They have dug out 11 month old data that is nothing like what the child wants now.

We are wits end. We continue to fight for the children's voices to be heard as that is what we have agreed to. But the cm is now playing games with changing visitation with the kin times and days.

We have agreed to transport the kids to all visits with bm. This was due to the child being afraid to leave with cm and because they are forced to go visit in prison. Now the cm wants us out. Unless of course she can use the extra hands at prison.

Any wisdom?

The best advice I can give you is.... you really need your case workers on your side. I have been in 3 years of CPS hell and have had 7 or 8 case workers. Some good, some bad, some nearly non-existant (only the caseworker for 1 week) When they are on your side life is good, but as you are finding out when you get one that decides you are the devil in disguise it becomes real bad real fast. My best advise is document, document, document. Put your concerns in writing to the case workers supervisor so it will be made part of the court records and the caseworker cannot deny what you said or did or what she said or did. Make phone calls to supervisors and if you are not satisfied then contact the supervisors supervisor. Thank you for being a child advocate and believe me I understand how hard it is when the caseworker does not agree with you, you spend much more time with this child/children than they can ever hope to. You do know that child better and you hear their fears and concerns on a daily basis. Please do not ever stop trying to help that child/children that need your voice so desperately. Documentation is the key.
