Hi there,
I am new here, want to say "hi" to all. I need some encouragement and some advice. We have 4 bio. children and I really want another child. Not necessarily to adopt, but if given the chance we would. I know how many children out there, need a home, even for a while and to better there life for the moment, is just such an opportunity. We have a 9,8,6 and 4 yr. old and I would love at least on more baby/toddler. Is it possible to only ask for a certain age range when applying to be a foster parent? I would only want 24 months and under at this time, just to keep the birth order and to eliminate some problems that come with abused children at our children's ages. I have been told before to be very careful doing foster care with children our children's ages, but I see others do it so frequently and seem to have things work out fine. Are there others out there with young children that have also became foster parents? I feel our children are old enough to understand that we are doing a great, wonderful thing for these children while in our care and if they return to their bio home, we gave them a great home for the time being. Anyway, just want to hopefully hear from some families that also have young bio children and how it worked out for your families taking in younger foster children. Thanks for any advice you all could give me.
