We're still really new to this. We had a child placed with us last weekend, but we have yet to finish all of our training. I'm sure I will have plenty of questions, but here's the first one...
What's the scoop on babysitters in Missouri? If we only need a sitter for an hour or two, is that different than needing one for 12 hours or more? Do we need an approved person to watch the child, or is someone that we would use for our biological child all right? And if we need approval, is a sitter that is approved for daycare, Girl Scouts or teaching (because they must submit to background checks) good enough, or do we need to have someone that is specifically approved by the state agency?
Really, my DH and I have been looking forward to seeing a movie for about a year now (that just came out the same day we got our foster child). We've been talking about going to see it "in shifts," but it's a horror flick, and I'm a bit of a chicken to go alone.
Also, if anyone has any other great resources on helping with the transition (toddler age), I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
