I found an article about a woman who harassed a 13 year old girl on myspace and the girl committed suicide. Should we be more alarmed about myspace?

Here is a link to the article:

My foster son was able to access porn, singles, drug and gang activities from his innocent myspace...I say YES, you should be alarmed and keep the kiddos off of it. While it is a place "for friends" there are SO many preditors and things linked to it, that it is not a safe environment for kids.
Another thing I have noticed is that the kids I have seen on myspace, put on this "personna" usually much different than their true self. While there are normal times and places for that, in our home we try to keep it real and overcome the past mistakes, not flow right back to them. So in my house, we have parental controls on the computer and this includes no myspace, facebook or private email accounts with yahoo or others. We have email thru our provider and I set up his account and have his password so I monitor occassionally who he is chatting with-I know it sounds a little bit like "big brother" here, but we have been able to head off some things that would have ended badly for our bad-choice-making 16 year old boy! I guess I am the Foster mom from you know where...but I am okay with that.;)
