Does anyone ever feel like they have bitten off more than they could chew?

I think we all go through it. Did you recently get a placement? Or is it something different?

Sometimes when we first get a placement, I feel a bit overwhelmed. But after a few wks things settle down and I wouldn't want it any other way.

We have definately felt that way at times. Our first placement was only with us for 60 days and we are only on our second placement, so my hope is that once the children know what to expect from us, some of the behaviors will calm down. . . For those who have done this longer, is this accurate?

I've certainly had my moments!

My girlfriend and I broke up only months after receiving our first FD. She moved out of the house the same day we moved FD's little brother in.

80% of the time things are smooth as could be. 18% of the time I'm a little behind, but happy with the way things are going. This past weekend I got either a terrible cold or the flu, there's no other adult around, and I wanted to cry!

Luckily we are all coming through with no scars, ha, but boy is it overwhelming at times! Hang in there! Vent here when you need a friendly ear!

We have had 7 different children in home in the last past year. We kinda wish we had more long term placements. We really get aggravated in bending over backwards to make sure all the visits are done to accomodate the BP, you would think it would be the other way. Then the courts allow all the different extended stays, then when the kids come
back to our home it is really tough again.
