Hi I'm now to this forum and wanted to know if anyone in CA can tell me the codes or regulations for windows facing pools. I have been a foster parent for 15 yrs and am changing FFAs and am facing a problem with them about my pool. Does anyone else have a pool that is completely fenced and has window s facing it? Does anyone have a copy of Title 22 on pool regulations and windows?

Hello. I don't have a copy of the regulations, but I have a pool and my home was just re-certified last year. They required the typical state/county pool protections; fence around the yard of a given height, self-closing and latching gate that opens outward, and locks, latches or alarms on all doors or windows that lead directly out to the pool area. I use a combination of latches that are mounted above "kid level", so they can't reach them, and electronic alarms. In addition I put a "pool eye" device in the pool itself when we are not in the yard. This device produces an audible alarm whenever it detects waves generated by anything falling into the pool that's 20+ pounds. It's not required, but my social worker appreciated the layered approach to safety.
