Hi I i'm new to this forum. It's been 3 weeks since i have gotten my foster children. It was an emergency placement, and we are first time foster parents. It was quite overwhelming. We have not gotten to take the course yet, so were doing this on the fly. We have 2 foster kids 7 and 10 with lots of issues from bed wetting abuse ect. Any support would be much welcome at this point.Thanx, Robin in VT

welcome to foster parent world! Wow, taking the classes prepares you some, but living it is a whole other story. I had 2 placements on one day, 2 diff families...and my life changed for one week. One of the children only stayed temporary, 1 week, but the infant is still here.
Understand any resources that available to you to help you with your new foster children. They sound like they are acting out. I guess the honeymoon is over. Make sure you know all you need to about these kids to get the help they need. And more importantly make sure you have someone you can lean on. Sounds like your are in for a foster journey. smile!

Yes it's quite a journey and I still have a nine year ld daughter at home. It's been different for her too. Do you get more if the child has a learning diability from the state. I have one child who is on an IEP and I a'm becoming his educational surrogate for him :p

I would encourage you to connect with your state foster parent association, 800-746-7000, for local support.
