We are currently in discussions with our state contract manager about providing child care at our in-service training sessions. The CT Association of Foster and Adoptive Parents provides approximately 150 training modeules per year (ranging from 3-15 hours per module) and also provides 4 statewide training conferences per year. Up until now, we have not provided child care onsite for either the modules or the conferences through CT foster, adoptive and relative caregiver parents are eligible to get child care funds as well as transportation costs reimbursed by the deparetment. The question for you all is regarding child care. If you could take a few minutes to answer the questions below, it would be greatly appreciated. It would be really helpful if you could get back to me no later than February 20.

Does your association provide child care at its training events? If so, is it at all training events or just specific ones?

If yes:

Who provides the care? What is the payment mechanism for those providers? How much is the payment?
Is there any background checks or other application process which a provider musthave in order to do this for you?
How are venues selected? What types of venues do you seek out?
What have you found to be issues, good or bad, in the provision of child care?
Is there anything else that you feel would be helpful to know?thank you very much for your time to respond. I appreciate it.
