How to "set up" the bedrooms???

Hi all!

My husband and I just began fostering...and would not mind having as many children as we can handle...I just love fostering. Right now we only have a 9 year old girl...so our full size bed works great for her. But my question is...
I have 2 bedrooms. One has enough legal space for 3 kids, another has enough legal room for 2 kids.
How should I set these rooms up? I have 2 toddler beds, 1 crib, 1 twin size bed, 1 full size bed, and 1 queen size bed that I can use.
Our case worker doesn't seem to give me a straight answer as to what age of children we generally get in this area...she says "all ages" which I know is true...but what I'm wondering is basically how can I be ready for ANY situation? Do you guys use your toddler beds and twin size beds? Do you ever need the bigger beds for teenagers...or do you always stick to twins? What about bunk beds? I've thought about this, but figured that some kids would be afraid of sleeping on top? Anyways...any advice on how you have your rooms set up would be great!

I have 2 rooms as well and I have three current children. I have a toddler bed and a crib in one room and then I have a twin in the other. I currently have a 2 and 5 year old girl and a 4 year old boy. I have the girls in the bigger room and the 5 year old sleeps in a toddler bed casue it was less expensive than an actual twin. and the 2 year old is in a crib. My 5 year old is average height and she fits fine in the toddler bed. I have the little boy in the other room by himself sleeping in the twin bed. The best advise i can give you is probally the one that you dont want to hear and that is wait untill you get a kid and you can set up for that one...BUT if your like me and super excited then it would probally be put the twin and the full size bed in the smaller of the two rooms and then put the 2 toddler and the crib in the other. When I first got placed. We were living in a med size 2 bed appartment and I has one twin and one crib in there and I only had a 16mth old. THen we moved to a 2 bedroom house and the Foster bedroom was huge, and I put 2 twins in there are and the crib. As soon as I was moved I was placed with a 9 mth old and So she slept in a pack and play in the room with us untill we could get the other child out of our crib. Unfortuantly he was moved with a relative 2 weeks later. Then we were placed with 2 more girls that were 4 and 5 and they slept in the twins. Since the baby had some medical problems and the new girls had bad behavior problems..we put the crib in our room. THen about 6 mths later we moved again to a 3 bedroom apartment (they sold the rent house we were living in) and we put the 2 older girls in one room and the baby in her own room. Then after 2 months we ended up putting the 5 year old with the baby and gave the other one her own room because she had violent outburshts at night...a month later she was removed and I gave the girls there own rooms...then I was placed with the 4 year boy that i have now...and then I was placed with his sister. 2 mths later.. ...Now we are in our own house (that we are buying) I have the girls together and the boy alone...I guess what I am trying to say is that you are going to have to move rooms and adapt, with each placement. I feel like I moved rooms every few months...But I want to make sure that each child is in a room and in a bed that is best suited for them and their needs. :) I hope this helps....:) Have fun and good luck Texas Foster Mommy

just a quick note about the bunk beds. Some agencies do not allow foster children to sleep in bunkbeds or loft beds. Some even say that you can't have bunk beds in your house. you may not to check with your agency or social services worker.

I'm in CA. We can't have more than two children in one bedroom and they have to be the same sex, although I believe the same sex rule only applies to those over 2 years. I just care for newborns so I never have more than 2 total.
