Hi, I am new to the site. Due to a crisis in my family, I may need to take in my five neices and nephews currently in foster care in Fl. I live in Va. I work as a professional in a field which puts me in contact with many foster children and SW here in Va. I have asked some of the SW I know about the issue of moving the children here from Fl. They have let me know that Fl has privatized their system, which has caused new problems. Also, if the children do not have 4-E medicaid, they cannot get Medicaid coverage here in Va. The parental rights have either been terminated or are about to be so that issue is clear. The issue of inter-state management is apparently not good. Has anyone out there had this experience? Do you have any suggestions for me? I am going to see the children in a few days and am hoping to have my first meeting with the SW. I am trying to become as knowledgeable as I can before I go.
